Capri Survey – Day 3

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Another full day out at sea. We managed to get in six long survey lines meaning that we are stil on schedule. The weather has been unusually kind to us and it seems that the high pressure front will remain until the weekend. So far we have concentrated on data aquisition and in the coming days we’ll start to analyze the various anomnalies that have been detected so far.

Back on the Fortaleza, David Scaradozzi, Eric and Paul were busy going through the various peripherals fitted onto the ROV. They set up the system and went through all the various signals so as to gain a better undertanding of hat our system can do and how it can be developed. By the end of the day, David had already come up with a working diagram showing how the various signlas (GPS position, heading, pitch & roll, altitude etc) can be integrated into an imaging system. It sounds complicated and it is but we will keep you posted as we go along.
